computer is not connected to a printer. In addition, there is a printed copy of all publications in the library listed by title and author.
Ex Libris Book Club
It meets the first Wednesday of each month at 2:30 pm in the library. A member of the Club presents a review of a preselected
book. A listing of the books to be reviewed is posted in the library. All are welcome to attend the Book Club.
This year we are going to introduce some of the authors of our books in the library. Each month we will present a brief biography
of an author. There will be a sampling of the books by the author on the table and atop the bookshelves. A complete list of all of
the authors' books available will be on the desk.
Our featured author this month is Max Lucado, who has written over 50 inspirational and study books. He was born in Texas,
where his father was an oil field worker and his mother a nurse. While studying to be a lawyer, he felt called to the mission field
while on a mission trip. He and his wife Denalyn served as missionaries in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for five years until the death of his
father. He was then called to the Oak Hills Church as its pastor in 1988. In 2007 he stepped down as the senior pastor of the
church, but continues as the minister of writing and preaching.
I know many are familiar with his works, but please take time to review the list of all the books we have in the library. Many of his
books have a study guide which can be useful for study groups.
Please remember that the library not only has books, but puzzles, DVD’s, and CD’s.
If you do not know the location of a specific book, please come when the library is staffed. If there is no one available, a book can
be searched on the computer by book, title or author or you can call Suzanne Williams 707-1493,or Mary Cover 707-5261 for help.
The 2012 UMW books are now on the cart on a separate shelf along with a complete listing of all of the books on the reading list is
on the top of the cart.
