Short List Shoppers Care
Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church
Struggling with illness? Just home from the hospital? Need someone to pick up a
few groceries or prescriptions while you’re recovering? The “Short List
Shoppers” Ministry, one of the Mutual Care Ministries at Fairfield Glade United
Methodist Church, is ready and willing to extend you a helping hand until you’re
back on your feet or can make long-term arrangements.
In an outreach effort to Fairfield Glade residents, “Short List Shoppers” will
provide assistance to those needing support by picking up and delivering items
such as prescriptions, a short list of groceries, or other essential items. Our
Ministry focus is to address the needs of Fairfield Glade residents who are newly
released from the hospital and/or who are restricted from driving.
We have had questions regarding a "fee" for our ministry to those outside our
church membership and the answer is an emphatic 'no!' There is no fee for this
service. Please be prepared to answer a few simple questions to ensure
promptness and accuracy in meeting your needs.
In requesting groceries, the suggested limit for shoppers is 10 items or fewer.
Prescriptions may be filled or refilled through pharmacies at Food City - Fairfield
Glade or Kroger - Fairfield Glade. Those residents of Fairfield Glade currently
using in-town pharmacies are encouraged to have prescriptions transferred to
one of the Fairfield Glade pharmacies. Payment must be made by cash or check
made payable to the store where the authorized shopper picks up your
prescription order or grocery list. If you prefer, you may give your credit card
information directly to the pharmacy for your prescription.
For additional information or assistance, call a Ministry Chairperson or the
church office. Chairpersons are Judy Etzel at 484-3631 or the church office
number is 484-3473.
The Short List Shoppers have answered a call to serve and are here for you. It
is up to you… to call for help when help in needed!
